Some may wonder why my Shop is called Grimes Scene queen Luxe Lifestyle. I am a lover of all things true crime. Recently I watched on Netflix a show about Michelle McNamara. Michelle was a true crime blogger at TrueCrimeDiary.com. She was married to Patton Oswalt. She wrote a book I'll Be Gone in the Dark, coined the term Golden State killer that brought attention to a serial killer living amongst us in the dark. McNamara had a long-standing fascination with true crime originating from the unsolved murder of Kathleen Lombardo that happened two blocks from where she lived when she was young.
McNamara became interested in the crimes of the unidentified rapist and murderer known as the East Area Rapist, Original Night Stalker and the Visalia Ransacker, among other epithets.[21]Due in large part to McNamara's efforts in tying these crime clusters together in public consciousness after the EAR and ONS crimes were linked by DNA,[22][23] the murderer was later to be known only as the Golden State Killer(GSK). She penned articles for Los Angelesmagazine about the serial killer in 2013 and 2014.[24][3] Paul Holes, an investigator for the Contra Costa County district attorney's office, stated that McNamara's dogged persistence and trustworthiness with sensitive information about GSK cases earned her an unusual level of cooperation from law enforcement officials.[25]She then signed a book deal with HarperCollinsand began to work on a book about the case.[23]
Her book, I'll Be Gone in the Dark: One Woman's Obsessive Search for the Golden State Killer, was about two-thirds finished at her death. The manuscript was edited and completed by true crime writers Paul Haynes, Billy Jensen and her widower Patton Oswalt following her death in April 2016. The book, released posthumously on February 27, 2018, reached number 2 of The New York Times Best Seller list for non-fiction and number 1 of combined print and e-book, nonfiction.[26][27] The book remained on the list for 15 weeks.[28]
On April 9, 2018, HBO announced that it had purchased the rights for her book and was developing it into a documentary series.[4]Filming for the series began on April 24, 2018.[29] The documentary series, also titled I'll Be Gone in the Dark, is directed by Liz Garbus[5]and premiered on June 28, 2020.[30]
On the evening of April 24, 2018, authorities in California identified Joseph James DeAngelo as the Golden State Killer and arrested him at his home.[31][32] Oswalt stated that authorities' use of the killer's nickname that McNamara coined was "proof of the impact of her work".[33]
I have watched every crime show imaginable. My fascination with true crime came from my knee to logically explain my surroundings and understanding people more. I liked that I can form opinions and investigate things further to help my critical thinking I didn’t realise until later in life that true crime junkies existed my daughter and I binge watched true crime and have it on have it in on the background almost all the time.
My goal for the site it to bring awareness to crime junkies and the ability to assist in solving crime due to limited funds and resources within government agencies and the power of many. Bring together individuals passionate individuals who want to make difference in their communities and world. Societal awareness on the lifelong trauma by victims of crimes. Help recognise writers and authors by partnering with authors to get free first chapter of their books to benefit writers and authors for publicity and customers by teaching them about the world of true crime and the various writers and authors and passion behind it all.
